General Info:
Join me on this two day Southern Oregon springtime waterfall photography workshop May 10 - 11 2025!
Waterfalls located in the Umpqua watershed are among the finest in Oregon. This year a slight change has been made to the workshop and it will now be based out of Roseburg in order to cut down on travel time during the workshop. This will allow for more time at each location and/or more waterfalls to photograph.
This small group workshop is limited to 5 participants to ensure a good instructor to student ratio.
We will be photographing some of the most beautiful waterfalls Oregon has to offer in the best season for green foliage and high water levels. Participants will be guided on the use of polarizing filters, neutral density filters, shutter speed choices, and composition. The second day will conclude with a post processing tutorial going over the editing techniques I use including both basic and advanced processing techniques to achieve the final image.
What’s included:
Guided treks to multiple Southern Oregon waterfalls within the Umpqua National Forest. In-the-field individual instruction/guidance on composition, camera settings, use of filters, etc. Post processing lessons featuring simple but effective techniques on how to get the most from your images.
What’s not included:
Transportation, lodging, meals, equipment, and anything not listed under the “What’s included” section above.
Who this workshop is for:
Photographers interested in learning how to capture high quality waterfall images. Photographers of all experience levels welcome! Basic knowledge and understanding of your cameras operation outside of automatic mode is helpful but not required for this workshop. I can teach you as we go! This is not a smartphone photography course. Please bring an interchangeable lens camera or high quality fixed lens camera and a tripod. In general, wide angle to medium telephoto lenses are most suitable for this workshop with a few opportunities for telephoto images as well. I highly recommend polarizing and/or neutral density filters for this workshop. Please contact me with any questions.
