“My experience with Tim was a great one. He and the guest instructor Steven Michael were both so easy going and helpful. This was the first workshop I’ve done and really the first time being around other photographers, so I didn’t know what to expect. The workshop was located in the county I grew up in and currently reside in, and I still saw places I’ve never been. I also received fresh perspectives to places I’ve been a hundred times. I gained an incredible amount of tools to capture seascapes in a way I never thought about. They both taught me things about my camera I didn’t even know existed to look up. I learned about techniques such as focus stacking, panoramas, and long exposure. We also got right into the water with waders and shot some compositions I’ve never considered. 

Tim was also so helpful with gear recommendations. I struggled with my tripod and mentioned I wanted a new bag in passing. After the workshop, he sent a list of companies to check out. 

Tim and Steven both are very attentive, patient and kind teachers. I left with an immeasurable amount of confidence over what I entered the workshop with.

“I had the pleasure of participating in Tim Hallam’s Oregon Coast Workshop in October 2023. I can say with confidence that Tim is a fantastic instructor, and especially in the ways that he welcomes people of all backgrounds, and all skill levels. He truly makes you feel as though you belong. I watched and learned as he effortlessly led us on multiple journeys and varied seascapes, allowing us to practice with various levels of light, and distance. His ability and knowledge is superb, and truly shows in his one-on-one instruction where he guides you to the picture-perfect photo, while allowing you to still find and shoot in your own style.

With this particular workshop, instead of in-person photoshop instruction, he opted to give us more time for photo taking, and chose to provide online video photoshop courses instead after the workshop. While I was mildly skeptical at first, I am highly impressed at how easy to follow and informative his videos are, and not only that, but having the videos online allows you to go back and watch them again to help you truly understand what you’re doing. He is also easy to reach, and replies in a very timely matter if you have any questions regarding his instruction.

I highly recommend attending one of Tim’s workshops, and plan to do so again as soon as I’m able.”
